Winblo Peach

Winblo is a self-fertile peach that asks for patience — three to four years before the first fruit — and then rewards it generously each summer.

Winblo Peach arrived with two virtues that matter in the home orchard: it pollinates itself, so a single tree is sufficient, and it carries moderate resistance to bacterial leaf spot, one of the more persistent problems in peach growing. The fragrant pink flowers that open in spring bring in bees and butterflies before the fruit sets, giving the tree a brief but genuinely attractive ornamental moment.

At 12 to 15 feet in standard form, Winblo fits comfortably into most back gardens across zones 5 through 9. The three-to-four-year wait for first fruit is standard for peach trees and worth framing as an investment — once bearing, healthy trees produce abundantly. Consistent late-winter pruning to thin the canopy will keep air moving through the branches and reduce the fungal pressure that peaches are always susceptible to in humid summers.
